Evaluation of the mentoring programme

Under Activity 1.2, project team initiated the process to involve the trained, under Activity 1.1, professionals in the pilot delivery of social mentoring programmes in all 5 regions in Macedonia.

On this basis, on 2/11/2017 project team delivered the final version of the “Supervision Methodology/ toolkit for self-evaluation” (D1.2a) to be applied in the pilot social mentoring programme that would follow. The “Supervision Methodology Tool Kit” was designed so as to be a reference guide for project’s staff and mentors, in order to provide a concrete structure with regards to the supervision methodology and most important tools that were going to be applied during the mentorship program.

During the actual implementation period of the social mentoring programme, which was initiated on 10/2016 with the organization of the social mentors’ teams that confirmed their engagement in the implementation of the pilot programme. From the overall 22 professionals trained, 12 of them were actively involved (from 8 cities in 3 regions). Among those 12 mentors, most of them were in the Southwest Region (6 mentors), followed by the Northeast Region (4 mentors) and Polog Region (two mentors).

As regards the overall mentoring process, a total of 22 persons were actively involved, under the professional guidance of the trained mentors who participated in the programme.

During the period March – April 2017 project team conducted meetings with mentors and mentees, so as the pilot programme to be evaluated and the respective individual evaluation reports (D1.2b) to be prepared. The feedback received, during the meetings, for the toolkit that was used for the social mentoring programme was very satisfying and no recommendations for further improving the toolkit were provided, since it was accounted as an integrated tool that could stand alone.
